What are the monthly charges?
You do not have to make a monthly payment.
RAF Payments charges are based on how much money you choose to take upfront in your first payment and how long the Road Accident Fund takes to pay your attorney.
Your charges will be explained by your RAF Payments' consultant and will be clearly set out in the quote your receive.
Once the Road Accident Fund pays your lawyers, the monthly charges will be taken off in one amount and you will receive the balance of your money in your second and final payment.

What is a Court Order or Settlement Agreement?
A Road Accident Fund ("RAF") claim can be finalised in one of two ways:
- Court Order: this is when your attorney goes to court and a Judge orders the RAF to pay you a certain amount.
- Settlement Agreement: sometimes called a "Settlement Letter", this is when your attorney and the RAF have agreed on the amount that you will be paid without having to go to court.
Either of these documents will qualify you for a cash advance from RAF Payments.
How quickly can I expect my RAF Payments cash advance?
RAF Payments will release funds within 24 hours, from when the agreements are signed by you and your attorney!
The full process is often simple and can be very quick, however, there can sometimes be delays. The most common delays are collecting documentation and waiting for attorneys to sign the contract.
How much do I qualify for in my first payout?
First, we deduct your attorney’s fees from your RAF Court Order or Settlement Agreement, and then RAF Payments will be able to advance up to 40% of the amount left.
For Example:
If you have a court order of R1,000,000 of which the attorney’s fee is R250,000. The amount owing to you is R750,000. You are able to apply for up to R300,000 (40% of R750,000) as an immediate cash advance.
